Content Policy
This policy explains how Reliable News sources, creates, and attributes its content. We are committed to producing original journalism and respecting intellectual property rights.
Our Content Sources
All content published on Reliable News falls into one of the following categories:
- Original reporting: Stories reported by our own journalists, including interviews, on-the-ground coverage, and investigative work.
- Legally licensed content: Content obtained through official syndication agreements or press agencies.
- Summarised external news: Brief summaries (under ~150 words) of news reported by other sources, written in our own words with clear attribution and links back to the original source.
Attribution Rules
When we summarise or reference external news, we adhere to these rules:
- We write the summary entirely in our own words — no copying or paraphrasing of full articles
- We keep summaries concise (under ~150 words)
- We clearly name the original source and provide a direct link
- We add original context, local angle, or analysis where relevant
- We do not republish full articles, headlines, images, or videos from other publishers without a written licence
Handling Trending National Stories
When covering trending national stories, we focus on the local angle:
- How does this national story affect local communities?
- What are local officials, organisations, or residents saying?
- Are there local data points or case studies that illustrate the national trend?
- We avoid simply republishing wire copy without original local context
Copyright Stance
Reliable News Publishing Ltd respects the intellectual property rights of others. We do not:
- Republish full articles from other publishers without permission
- Use images or videos without proper licensing or fair use justification
- Present others' reporting as our own
If you believe we have used your content inappropriately, please contact us at newsroom@reliablenews.co.uk and we will address the issue promptly.
Original Content Commitment
Our editorial team prioritises original reporting. We believe that sustainable local journalism depends on creating unique, valuable content that serves our community — not on republishing the work of others.
