Editorial Policy

Our editorial policy outlines the standards and practices we follow to ensure our journalism is accurate, fair, and trustworthy.

Reporting Standards

All articles published by Reliable News adhere to the following principles:

  • Accuracy: We verify facts before publication using multiple sources where possible.
  • Fairness: We present balanced coverage and seek comment from relevant parties.
  • Independence: Our editorial decisions are made independently of commercial or political interests.
  • Transparency: We clearly label opinion pieces, sponsored content, and advertising.

Verification Process

Our journalists follow a rigorous verification process:

  • Fact-checking claims against primary sources
  • Seeking confirmation from multiple independent sources
  • Consulting official records and documents
  • Attributing information clearly so readers can assess credibility

Sources and Attribution

We attribute information to its source whenever possible. When summarising external news, we provide clear attribution and links back to the original source. We do not republish full articles from other publishers without a written license or syndication agreement.

Sourcing and Attribution Policy

When we summarise news from other sources, we:

  • Write the content in our own words (not copied)
  • Keep summaries under ~150 words
  • Provide clear attribution with the source name and a link
  • Add original local context or analysis where relevant

Sponsored Content

All sponsored and paid content is clearly labelled as “Sponsored” or “Advertising”. Sponsored content does not influence our editorial coverage.

Corrections

If we publish an error, we correct it promptly and transparently. See our Corrections Policy for details.
